De Struise Brouwers is a Belgian microbrewery based in Oostvleteren, housed in a former school building. The brewery quickly earned a reputation for itself by pushing boundaries and doing things a little differently from the very start. Located in the West Flemish countryside, De Struise Brouwers became a reference point for adventurous Belgian craft brewing, attracting attention from beer enthusiasts and collectors around the world. The brewery's portfolio is bold and diverse, spanning Belgian quads, imperial stouts, amber ales and collaborative brews. De Struise Brouwers is particularly known for its flagship Black Albert, an imperial stout that has been described as authoritative in The Oxford Companion to Beer, and Pannepot, a Belgian strong ale that has been released in multiple vintage and barrel-aged editions, including bourbon barrel-aged variants. Their Struise Rosse amber ale, brewed with barley, wheat and oats and finished with Belgian candi sugar, further showcases the brewery's range and craftsmanship. De Struise Brouwers has built a cult following through limited releases, anniversary ales and ambitious collaborations, including a nine-brewery collab called Zombination. Carlo Grootaert and the team have cultivated a passionate community around their beers, making the brewery a destination for dedicated beer lovers despite limited public opening hours.
