Bierbrouwerij De Pauw is a microbrewery located in Ommen, in the province of Overijssel, the Netherlands. Established in 1996, the brewery revives a historic local name: around 1850, the original Bierbrouwerij De Pauw was the last local brewery in the Ommen area before it closed its doors. Today's brewery is housed on the grounds of the centuries-old De Meulenhorst farmstead, situated on the border between Twente and Salland, making it one of the most remote breweries in the Netherlands. De Pauw brews in a traditional manner, as beer has been made for hundreds of years. The brewery deliberately distances itself from modern industrial brewing, instead focusing on craft and authenticity. Situated next to a biological dairy farm, the brewery reflects a deep connection to the land and its surroundings in the Overijssel countryside. Visitors are welcome at the self-sufficient barn next to the brewery, which doubles as a tasting and rest stop and is always open. This rustic taproom setting gives guests the opportunity to sample De Pauw's beers in a truly authentic rural atmosphere, making it a unique destination along beer and nature routes through Landschap Overijssel.
