Brewery Strubbe is a historic Belgian family brewery with roots dating back to 1830, when Carolus Strubbe left his hometown of Tielt and settled in Ichtegem, in the West Flanders region of Belgium. Over nearly two centuries, the brewery has remained in family hands, embodying the values of authenticity and craftsmanship that have defined Belgian brewing tradition for generations. Strubbe is a proud member of the Belgian Family Brewers, an association uniting independent, family-owned breweries committed to preserving brewing heritage. The brewery is known for its diverse portfolio of Belgian ales, with a particular focus on traditional styles and mixed fermentation beers. Among its offerings, Strubbe produces a range of wild and sour beers, including Oud Zottegems Bier (6.5% and 6.8%), Zottegemse Grand Cru (8.4%), and Oud Kriekenbier (6.5%), the latter showcasing the classic Belgian tradition of fruit-infused, spontaneously fermented ales. These beers reflect a deep respect for time-honoured brewing methods and regional character. With its long-standing commitment to family ownership and traditional craftsmanship, Brewery Strubbe stands as one of Belgium's enduring brewing institutions, continuing to produce beers that honour the rich legacy of Belgian brewing culture.
