Dikke Mathile from Brouwerij Strubbe is an amber-coloured Belgian Pale Ale at 6% ABV, brewed in Ichtegem. The beer opens with sweet aromas of fruit and caramel, layered with honey and a delicate hint of grass. On the palate, vanilla and caramel dominate, supported by a subtle acidity that adds complexity. The finish brings a noticeable bitterness that offsets the beer's inherent sweetness. Dikke Mathile wears its sweetness openly, yet avoids becoming cloying thanks to its fruity character and dry finish. It pairs well with roasted chicken and fresh salads.
