Brouwerij De Ranke is an independent Belgian brewery founded in 1996 in Wevelgem by two passionate beer enthusiasts, Nino Bacelle and Guido Devos. What began as a collaboration between friends quickly grew into one of Belgium's most respected craft breweries. The brewery is now based in Dottignies (Dottenijs), in the province of Hainaut, and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern Belgian craft beer movement. De Ranke has built its reputation on bold, hop-forward beers at a time when such assertiveness was far from common in Belgium. Their portfolio spans a range of styles, including their iconic XX Bitter, a fiercely hopped Belgian ale that helped define the brewery's identity, and Guldenberg, a dry and crisp tripel celebrated for its strong hop aroma and flavour. The Saison de Dottignies is another standout, a classic farmhouse ale that reflects the brewery's Wallonian roots. Across their range, De Ranke consistently balances traditional Belgian brewing techniques with an uncompromising commitment to hop character. Among their most beloved releases is the Père Noël, a Christmas beer launched in the brewery's very first year and still eagerly anticipated each winter. De Ranke has also taken on the production and commercialisation of beers from Brouwerij Kerkom, further cementing their role in the Belgian craft beer landscape.
