Brasserie La Binchoise is a Belgian craft brewery located in Binche, a historic town in the province of Hainaut, close to the French border. Brewing on this site dates back to 1836, when the first brewery was established along the river Summe on Rue Faubourg Saint-Paul. The brewery takes its name directly from the town of Binche, which is also internationally renowned for its colourful and centuries-old carnival celebrations. This deep-rooted local identity forms the backbone of the brewery's character and its connection to the Walloon region. La Binchoise specialises in artisanal Belgian ales, with a portfolio that reflects traditional Belgian brewing craftsmanship. Among its offerings is a Belgian blond brewed with the addition of coriander and orange peel, a classic approach to Belgian spiced ales. The brewery also produces seasonal specialities, including a Spiced Christmas Ale released under the name Special Noël, showcasing its skill with complex, festive malt and spice profiles. The quality of La Binchoise's beers has been recognised internationally. The Bière des Ours received a rating of 94 out of 100, while the Special Noël Spiced Christmas Ale scored an impressive 97 out of 100 on tastings.com, both evaluated in 1995. The brewery is situated at the foot of Binche's famous historic ramparts, and combines brewing with a restaurant, offering visitors an authentic taste of Hainaut's rich beer culture.
