Anderson Valley Brewing Company (AVBC) was founded on December 26th, 1987, in the small town of Boonville, California. As one of the oldest craft breweries in the United States, AVBC has been a pioneer in the American craft beer industry for over three decades. The brewery is rooted in the rugged character of Mendocino County, and its long history reflects a deep commitment to sustainably hand-crafting authentic ales and lagers with balance and complexity. Most recently, the brewery was acquired by craft beer veteran Kevin McGee and his family, continuing its legacy under passionate ownership. Anderson Valley Brewing Company has built a diverse portfolio of ales and lagers, known for their balance and complexity. Their range spans classic styles as well as more adventurous offerings. The Boont Amber Ale is among their signature beers — a copper-coloured ale with a fruity aroma and a rich, malt-forward character, highly regarded for pairing with food. The brewery also experiments with innovation, recently launching a Koji Lager as part of a new category in their lineup. AVBC's commitment to both tradition and experimentation is reflected in releases such as their English-style Strong Ale aged for nearly two years in bourbon barrels, showcasing depth and craftsmanship.
