Bird Brewery is a Dutch craft brewery based in Diemen, founded by a group of beer enthusiasts who wanted to brew their own beer but did not own a brewery. Instead, they rent brewing capacity at existing facilities, allowing them to focus entirely on recipe development and creativity. From the start, Bird Brewery built a reputation for approachable yet characterful beers, combining craftsmanship with a strong sense of community and sustainability. The brewery's portfolio is broad and adventurous, ranging from session ales and blond beers to hop-forward India Pale Ales and specialty releases. Bird Brewery is known for its playful, bird-inspired beer names and label artwork. Their regular lineup includes beers such as Après Kievit and a range of IPAs, while limited and seasonal releases — including New England Double IPAs and amber IPAs — keep the portfolio fresh and dynamic. The brewery also collaborates with partners such as Stapzwan Brewery on new recipes. Bird Brewery has a strong commitment to sustainability. In partnership with IUCN NL, the brewery launched the initiative '1 litre of beer = 1 m² of nature', following an earlier effort in which over 145,000 trees were planted. Bird Brewery has also participated in collaborative sustainability projects alongside other Dutch craft breweries, including Jopen, Oedipus Brewing, and Brouwerij Troost. Their first beer received recognition on the international rating platform RateBeer.
