Brouwerij Eanske is an independent craft brewery rooted in the heart of Enschede, a city in the Twente region of the eastern Netherlands. The brewery draws its identity and inspiration directly from the local history and character of Enschede, positioning itself as the city's own brewery. After a period of operation, the brewery received a fresh impulse in the summer of 2023, when founder Eli entered into a collaboration with the Twentsche community to give the brand renewed momentum. Eanske's portfolio is defined by what they describe as 'eigenwijze brouwsels' — opinionated, independent brews with surprising flavour profiles ranging from lightly hopped to boldly dark. The beers are crafted with the local past as a source of inspiration, resulting in a range that feels distinctly tied to Enschede and its surroundings. The brewery's lineup includes at least six beers in its standard assortment, among them De Stadspoorten, a beer named after the historic city gates of Enschede. Brouwerij Eanske has attracted attention beyond the Dutch borders, including a tap takeover event at Braukunstwerk in Germany, where Eli personally presented his beers to an international audience. The brewery also collaborates with local cultural initiatives, such as the Trasam travel guide, which uses Eanske's beers to let visitors taste the history of Enschede.
