Brouwerij De Leckere is a Utrecht-based brewery founded in 1997, making it one of the city's longest-standing craft beer producers. Originally established in Utrecht itself, the brewery later relocated to De Meern and eventually settled in the Werkspoorkwartier, a creative industrial quarter in Utrecht. It holds the distinction of being the largest brewery in Utrecht. In 2022, the brewery celebrated its 25th anniversary with its own beer festival, a testament to its deep roots in the local community. De Leckere is known for brewing a diverse range of specialty beers, and its portfolio reflects both a passion for innovation and a respect for historical brewing traditions. Notably, the brewery has collaborated with historians to research and revive medieval beer styles from the Utrecht region, including ancient hopped grain beers and kuit beer — a historical Dutch ale brewed with a blend of grains. These historically inspired beers set De Leckere apart from many of its contemporaries. Beyond its own label, De Leckere has also served as a contract brewing partner for other Dutch craft breweries, including vandeStreek, helping to foster the wider Utrecht beer scene. With its location in the vibrant Werkspoorkwartier, the brewery is well-positioned as both a production facility and a destination for beer enthusiasts exploring Utrecht's growing craft beer culture.
