Brauerei Aldersbach is one of Germany's most historic breweries, located in the village of Aldersbach in Lower Bavaria. Its roots trace back nearly 800 years to a Cistercian monastery, making it one of the oldest monastic brewing traditions in the country. In 1811, following the secularisation of the monastery, the abbey brewery passed into the hands of Johann Adam von Aretin, and the Freiherr von Aretin family has owned and operated it ever since — a remarkable continuity of family stewardship spanning more than two centuries.
