Van Honsebrouck, also known as Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck, is a Belgian brewery with deep roots in West Flanders. Originally based in Izegem, the brewery relocated in 2016 to a new, modern facility in the nearby town of Emelgem. The brewery is in many ways four breweries in one, with installations suited for top-fermentation beers such as the Kasteel range, mixed-fermentation beers, and more. Their portfolio spans a wide array of Belgian styles, most notably the Kasteelbier family — which includes Kasteel Tripel, Kasteel Donker, and several other variants — as well as the St. Louis range and the well-known Brigand. Brigand is a strong golden ale that undergoes bottle refermentation, offering a creamy head, a full-bodied palate, and a firm bitterness accentuated by the use of unmalted wheat.
