Einstök Ölgerð is an Icelandic craft brewery founded in 2010 by business partners who set out to put Iceland on the global craft beer map. The brewery is located in Akureyri, a fishing port situated just 60 miles south of the Arctic Circle. From the very beginning, Einstök distinguished itself by brewing with exceptionally pure water sourced from rain and prehistoric glacial reserves — a natural advantage that shapes the clean, crisp character of every beer it produces. At the time of its founding, Iceland's beer scene was dominated by just two large lager breweries, making Einstök a genuine pioneer in the country's emerging craft movement. Einstök's portfolio centres on ales and lagers, with a flagship Belgian-style witbier — the Icelandic White Ale — at its core. Beyond this signature brew, the range includes the Arctic Pale Ale, a hop-forward Icelandic pale ale, the Toasted Porter, a rich and roasted dark beer, and a Wee Heavy, a Scottish-inspired strong ale. The brewery also produces a seasonal summer pilsner, reflecting a versatile but focused approach to brewing across a range of styles. Einstök has earned recognition as Iceland's number one craft beer brand, gaining international distribution across multiple markets. The brewery has also expanded its presence with the Einstök Bar, a taproom in Reykjavik that opened to bring its Arctic-brewed beers closer to the capital's beer lovers and visitors.
