Eggens Craft Beer is a brewery from Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. Founded by Martijn Eggens, the brewery grew out of a genuine passion for beer. After several years of homebrewing — starting in the living room and kitchen on the Van Goghstraat in Groningen — Martijn took the next step in 2017 and transformed his hobby into a fully-fledged craft beer brand. The brewery has since grown steadily and has become one of the well-known craft beer names in the Groningen region. Eggens is particularly known for its malt-forward approach to brewing. Malt has always been a fascination for founder Martijn Eggens, and this is reflected in the brewery's portfolio of beers, which often feature a robust alcohol percentage. The range leans into bold, full-bodied styles that reward patience and attention. Since 2021, Eggens Craft Beer has also been ageing a selection of beers in exclusive barrels, applying this process to their core range and creating a distinct barrel-aged line alongside their regular offerings. For a period, Eggens brewed their beers at Baxbier in Groningen, a well-known local brewing facility. The brewery has also searched for its own dedicated location to continue growing. Eggens Craft Beer participates in craft beer festivals across Europe and is distributed through specialist beer retailers in the Netherlands.
