Unibroue is a Canadian craft brewery founded in 1990 in Chambly, Quebec, nestled near the Richelieu River just southeast of Montreal. Co-founded by Serge Racine and André Dion, the brewery quickly rose to prominence as a pioneer of Belgian-inspired brewing in North America. In 2004, Unibroue was acquired by Sleeman Breweries, yet it has continued to operate from its original home in Chambly, maintaining its distinct brewing identity and craft heritage. Unibroue has earned its reputation as the first brewery of its kind in North America to specialise in bottle-refermented specialty beers, a technique deeply rooted in Belgian brewing tradition. Its portfolio is defined by richly complex ales with expressive malt character, spiced notes, and distinct yeast profiles. Among its most celebrated beers are Blanche de Chambly, a witbier and the very first beer ever produced by the brewery, and Trois Pistoles, a robust dark ale brewed since 1997, layered with dark fruit aromas of plums and figs. La Fin du Monde, a golden tripel-style ale, stands as Unibroue's flagship and is internationally recognised — it was named the world's best beer of its style at the World Beer Awards. Unibroue's consistent award-winning quality and its pioneering approach to bottle refermentation have made its products highly sought after by distributors and beer lovers around the globe.
