About
Don de Dieu from Unibroue is a Belgian-style imperial wheat ale brewed in Quebec, named after the ship that brought French explorer Samuel de Champlain to North America. At 9% ABV, this golden ale blends barley malt, wheat, coriander and Curaçao into a full-bodied, nuanced beer. The aroma offers vanilla, honey and floral notes with suggestions of fruitcake and beeswax. The palate opens sweet and bready, revealing pronounced spicy phenols, banana character and gentle hop bitterness. The finish dries and warms pleasantly, with lingering spice that evolves as the beer opens up. It pours a pristine golden colour beneath a persistent, lacy foam head. Bright carbonation lends a crisp, lively mouthfeel that complements the full body and warming alcohol.
