A Stout with British Heart

Vocation Brewery has launched Rooted Riches, an ambitious new beer crafted in collaboration with maltster French & Jupp. This release represents a natural partnership between two organizations dedicated to British brewing expertise and quality ingredients. The beer embodies British character through both its ingredient selection and flavour profile, created to celebrate Beer Day Britain.

Composition and Brewing Approach

Rooted Riches is a 10% ABV stout built around British malts and Bramling Cross hops. Rich chocolate and roasted malt sweetness form the backbone, layered with subtle jammy plum, dried fruit, and blackcurrant notes. A gentle hint of liquorice provides the finishing touch. Bramling Cross hops contribute soft blackcurrant notes and subtle spice, helping balance the beer's richness whilst keeping the roasted malt and smooth stout body as the hero.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, dark chocolate and roasted barley dominate, complemented by cherry and dark fruit. The palate echoes these elements with added plum and aniseed character. The finish delivers plum, aniseed, and a balanced bitterness that rounds out the experience.
