König Brauerei is a historic German brewery located in Duisburg, in the Lower Rhine region of Germany. It was founded in 1858 by Theodor König in the rural community of Beeck, situated between Duisburg and the surrounding area. Over more than 150 years, the brewery has grown from a small local operation into one of the leading premium breweries in Germany, with around 400 employees. The brewery has invested in modern infrastructure, including an efficient brewhouse constructed in partnership with Ziemann Holvrieka. König Brauerei is best known for its flagship König Pilsener, a crisp and clean German pilsner that has become a benchmark for the style in the Lower Rhine region. The portfolio also includes König Pilsener Alkoholfrei, a non-alcoholic version of the pilsner, and TH. König Zwickl, an unfiltered Kellerbier or Zwickelbier at 5.3% ABV that showcases a more traditional, yeast-hazy brewing style.
