Brasserie Caulier is a Belgian brewery rooted in the town of Péruwelz, in the Hainaut province. Its story began in 1933, when Charles Caulier left his life as a miner behind to pursue his passion for brewing. What started as a personal endeavour grew into a brewery with nearly a century of history, crafting beers with pride and dedication. The brewery has since become a respected name in the Belgian craft beer landscape, known for producing beers that bring moments of genuine enjoyment. Brasserie Caulier's portfolio spans a range of Belgian beer styles, with a particular focus on specialty and abbey-inspired ales. Among its most celebrated offerings is the Bon Secours range, which includes styles such as a Triple and a seasonal Christmas Ale — a lively blonde ale full of aroma and flavour. The brewery also brews the Paix Dieu, a strong abbey beer originally tied to a monastery re-founded in 1970, brewed at Caulier's facility in Péruwelz. More recently, the brewery has undergone a rebranding, operating under the name Brasserie 28, with a renewed focus on craft low-carb beers. Caulier's biers have attracted international attention, with the brewery appearing in competitions such as the European Beer Challenge 2024. Their Bon Secours Prestige Triple, at 9% ABV, remains a flagship example of the Belgian tripel style — spiced, full-bodied and creamy on the finish.
