Schlossbrauerei Grünbach is a historic Bavarian brewery with roots stretching back to the early 18th century. The brewing tradition in Grünbach is officially documented since 1723, when a brewing law (Braugerechtigkeit) was granted, though other documents suggest an even older heritage. A defining chapter began in 1787 with the legendary brewing pioneer Benno Scharl, whose legacy has shaped the brewery's identity for generations. After an eventful history, Herman Noll took over the brewery and helped guide it into modern times. Today, a team of highly motivated and talented brewers continues this long tradition with great dedication. Schlossbrauerei Grünbach specialises in Bavarian wheat beers — known in German as Weissbiere — brewed according to time-honoured Bavarian recipes and the Reinheitsgebot, Germany's celebrated beer purity law. The brewery's portfolio centres on Hefeweizen-style ales, characterised by high wheat malt content, rich yeast aromas and naturally fruity flavours. Beers such as the Grünbacher Urweisse Hell are produced without heat treatment and with original bottle conditioning, preserving the full, lively character of traditional Bavarian wheat brewing. The brewery's range includes a variety of wheat beer expressions such as the Altweisse Gold, the Bayrisches Weissbier and a seasonal Winter Weisse, showcasing the breadth of the Grünbach wheat beer tradition. The brewery operates under the name Grünbacher Weissbiere and is based in Grünbach near Erding in Bavaria, a region long celebrated for its deep-rooted brewing culture.
