Hacker-Pschorr is one of Munich's most storied breweries, with origins stretching back to 1417 — nearly a century before the Reinheitsgebot was established. Founded as the Hacker brewery in the 15th century, it later merged with the Pschorr family to form the iconic dual-named brand that Bavarian beer lovers know today. For centuries it served as a court supplier, cementing its place at the heart of Munich's brewing heritage. Today, Hacker-Pschorr is brewed by Paulaner, its sister brand, after the brewery's own facility was closed in 1998. Hacker-Pschorr is firmly rooted in traditional Bavarian brewing styles, offering a wide portfolio of classic German beer styles. The range includes Märzen, Münchner Hell, and Weissbier, all brewed in accordance with long-standing Bavarian traditions. The brand is particularly known for its Oktoberfest Märzen, a malt-forward lager with a rich amber colour and a smooth, full-bodied character at 5.8% ABV. Whether poured from a wooden cask in a traditional beer hall or enjoyed from a bottle, Hacker-Pschorr delivers an authentic taste of Munich. As one of the six official Munich breweries permitted to pour at the Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr carries a reputation that spans more than six centuries. Its beers remain popular across Germany and internationally, and the brand continues to be associated with the traditions and conviviality of Bavaria's most celebrated beer festival.
