Brouwerij Broekroelofs is a small craft brewery based in Bergentheim, in the Netherlands. Founded by a homebrewer who turned his passion into a professional venture, the brewery became a notable name in the Dutch specialty beer scene. Its first beer came to market in March 2021, marking the official debut of a project rooted in craftsmanship and local character. In 2023, the brewery made the decision to give up its dedicated brewing space, transitioning to a smaller operational format while continuing to share its beers through tastings and events. The brewery is known for its approachable yet characterful beers, with a focus on specialty styles that reflect the brewer's personal vision. One standout example is Van Eigen Grond, originally released as a limited edition in 2020. The beer — a velvety red in colour — proved so popular with drinkers that it was added permanently to the lineup. This kind of audience-driven decision making reflects the brewery's close connection to its community of beer lovers. Despite its modest scale, Brouwerij Broekroelofs built a loyal following through small-format tastings and direct engagement with its audience. Up to and including August 2023, the brewery continued to host intimate tasting sessions led by brewer Roy, keeping the personal touch that defines the Broekroelofs experience.
