Belle-Vue is a Belgian lambic brewery with roots stretching back to 1913, when Philemon Vandenstock laid the foundation for what would become one of Belgium's most recognisable lambic brands. A pivotal moment in the brand's history came in 1927, when the family acquired the Café Belle-Vue on Avenue Paul Janson in Anderlecht — a name that would eventually define both the brewery and its beers. After 1968, the brewery established itself on the Henegouwenkaai in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, on a site with brewing history dating back to 1842. In 1969, Belle-Vue acquired the Decoster and Brabrux lambic breweries, followed by the De Neve brewery in 1975. In 1991, Belgian brewing giant Interbrew took over the brand, which later became part of AB InBev. Belle-Vue specialises in spontaneously fermented lambic beers, a traditional Belgian style in which wild yeast and bacteria from the Brussels air drive fermentation. The portfolio centres on accessible, fruit-forward interpretations of classic styles, most notably the Belle-Vue Kriek, brewed with cherries. The brand also produced a Gueuze Belle-Vue, though AB InBev discontinued that expression due to declining demand. For those seeking a more traditional lambic experience, the Belle-Vue Sélection Lambic stands out as a rare, unblended example of the style. As part of the AB InBev portfolio, Belle-Vue has historically been listed alongside international specialties such as Hoegaarden and Leffe. While the brand represents a more commercial take on lambic brewing, it remains one of the most widely distributed Belgian lambic beers in the world, introducing the style to a broad global audience.
