Barfüsser Hausbrauerei is a German brewpub with roots in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg. The brewery takes its name from the Barfüßer — the Franciscan friars — and is housed in a building that originally formed part of a Franciscan monastery, giving it a distinctive historic character. Barfüsser has been brewing beer since 1990, following the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot) and its own unique recipes, making it one of the enduring Hausbrauerei concepts in southern Germany. The brewery's portfolio is rooted in traditional German beer styles, brewed unfiltered and according to old brewing traditions. Among its signature offerings are the Barfüßer Blonde, an unfiltered and refreshingly drinkable wheat-style beer also available as a Radler, and the Barfüßer Schwarze, a dark Schwarzbier. Seasonal specialities such as Bockbier round out the range, reflecting the full breadth of classic German brewing craft. The brewpub in Ulm is known for its atmospheric vaulted ceilings and copper brewing kettles, which are central to the guest experience. With an accessible central location and a menu of regional dishes that pair well with the house-brewed beers, Barfüsser offers a genuine Brauhaus experience rooted in local tradition and craftsmanship.
