Alvinne Treebeard
Treebeard is an ambitious beer from Brouwerij Alvinne, crafted as part of their Fellowship of Exceptional Ales collection. This is a full-bodied, complex quadrupel at 17.5% ABV, matured in maple syrup barrels. The beer marries the rich, malty foundation of a traditional quadrupel with subtle wood influences and Alvinne's signature fermentation character. The result is a thick, syrupy ale layered with caramel, dark fruit and vanilla, interwoven with gentle woody notes. The palate is gently sweet with underlying fruity complexity.
Alvinne is renowned as a pioneer of barrel-aged beer in Europe. Their philosophy treats the barrel wood itself as an active ingredient, releasing complex flavours built by the liquid it holds. Treebeard exemplifies this craft: a beer shaped by time in wood, with full body and soft carbonation.
