Gothmog is an ambitious barleywine from Brouwerij Alvinne, brewed with honey and a touch of peated malt. This dark, full-bodied beer emerges from a single base brew of 2000 litres, yet yields multiple fruity variants through Alvinne's distinctive production approach.

The nose reveals sweet caramel, grape and plum, with prominent vanilla and wine notes. The palate marries roasted malt with caramel and a subtle woody finish. At 14% ABV, this beer develops as a complex, full-flavoured drink that blurs the boundary between beer and wine.

Alvinne, based in Moen near Zwevegem, is renowned as a European pioneer in barrel-aged brewing. Gothmog embodies their philosophy: wood as an active ingredient, not a passive addition.
