Kombine 2025 marks a historic first for St. Bernardus: their inaugural lager beer. This unfiltered Helles at 6% ABV emerged from a partnership with Weihenstephan, the world's oldest brewery. Both breweries sourced premium ingredients together: hops from the Poperinge region, Weihenstephan's signature yeast strain, Bavarian malt, and water from a 172-metre-deep well in Watou. Kombine presents as a full-bodied blonde beer with restrained hop character and a velvety-smooth texture. The nose shows yeasty, bready notes with subtle citrus. On the palate, fruity yeast character emerges alongside malt sweetness and light toast. The finish is dry and clean, true to classic Helles form.
