Blanche de Bruges, also known as Brugs Tarwebier, is a traditional wheat beer from Brouwerij De Halve Maan in Bruges. The brewery, family-owned since 1856 and stewarded by the Vanneste family for five generations, brews this beer to a heritage recipe. It is made with raw unmalted wheat and 100% Belgian hops from the Westhoek region. The result is a refreshing witbier with a hazy pale golden appearance. Aromas of coriander, orange peel and spice invite the nose. The palate is smooth and approachable, with subtle wheat malt sweetness and a distinctly spicy, peppery finish. Magnum hops provide a restrained bitterness. The beer is bottle-conditioned, allowing it to mature and develop further in the glass.
