Corsendonk

Corsendonk is a Belgian abbey-style beer brand with roots stretching back to 1398, when the Priory of Corsendonk — an Augustinian religious house — was established in Belgium. A brewery and maltings were historically connected to this priory. The modern Corsendonk brand was revived in 1982 by the Keersmaekers family, who relaunched the name and its beers with a focus on traditional Belgian abbey brewing. Today, Corsendonk beers are contract-brewed at Brasserie Du Bocq in Purnode, in the Belgian Ardennes, a family brewery with its own long heritage. Corsendonk offers a range of abbey-style beers alongside fruit beers, witbiers and specialty beers. The portfolio draws on classic Belgian brewing traditions, with bottle-conditioned ales characterised by rich malt character and careful fermentation. The brand is perhaps best known for styles such as the Agnus, a golden tripel-style ale, and seasonal releases like the Corsendonk Christmas Ale, which has built a following among Belgian beer enthusiasts internationally. Corsendonk has earned recognition beyond Belgium's borders and is imported into markets including the United States, where it has been distributed by importers such as Phoenix Imports and later St. Killian. The brand is considered a notable name among Belgian abbey beer brands, alongside the likes of Leffe and Affligem.
