About
Corsendonk Pater is a Belgian abbey ale with roots stretching back to 1398, when the Priory of Corsendonk maintained an important brewery and malthouse. Brewed with roasted malt and bottle-conditioned, this dark brown ale displays the complexity and depth characteristic of traditional monastic brewing. The nose reveals caramelized malt with hints of ripe fruit. On the palate it is mellow and well-balanced, offering notes of dark fruit, coffee, chocolate and toasted bread. The finish is dry and lingering, with a pleasant spiced character that extends the experience. At 7.5% ABV, Pater strikes a refined balance between robustness and drinkability. A classic expression of the Belgian dubbel style.
