Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven, located in Berkel-Enschot in the province of Noord-Brabant, is one of the world's most renowned Trappist breweries. Founded in 1884 within the walls of the Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven Abbey, the brewery has been producing authentic Trappist beers for well over a century. As a certified Authentic Trappist Product, the beers are brewed under the supervision of the Trappist monks who reside at the abbey, making De Koningshoeven the only Trappist brewery in the Netherlands. The brewery is best known for its La Trappe brand, which encompasses a diverse portfolio of traditional Trappist beer styles. Among its flagship offerings are the La Trappe Quadrupel, a rich and complex ale clocking in at 10% ABV with deep malty character and a balance of sweet and bitter flavours, as well as an amber ale that blends sweetness and bitterness into an approachable, highly drinkable beer. In recent years, De Koningshoeven has also shown a willingness to innovate, introducing low- and no-alcohol variants such as the La Trappe Epos 0.0%, which has earned recognition at competitions including the Dutch Beer Challenge.
