Burg Bier Brouwerij
Netherlands · Founded in 1995
Burg Bier Brouwerij is a Dutch craft brewery founded in 1995 and based in Ermelo, in the Gelderland province on the Veluwe. At a time when the Netherlands counted only around 40 breweries, Burg Bier was among the early pioneers of the Dutch microbrewery movement that would eventually transform the country's beer landscape into the thriving craft scene it is today. The brewery's portfolio is firmly rooted in the character of the Veluwe region, with beers that carry names and stories inspired by their natural and cultural surroundings. Their range includes seasonal styles such as a Lentebok (spring bock) at 5.5% ABV, as well as other Dutch craft beers that reflect regional identity. Signature beers like the Veluwse 6 and Veluws Sneetje further underline the brewery's commitment to local inspiration and craftsmanship. Burg Bier Brouwerij hosts an annual beer festival, the Burg Bieren Bierfeest, held in Ermelo, bringing together beer lovers and celebrating the regional brewing tradition. Their bokbieren have been rated on Untappd by Dutch enthusiasts, with scores reflecting a solid appreciation among craft beer fans. The brewery's motto, 'Proef de Veluwe' (Taste the Veluwe), captures its mission to bottle the spirit of this beloved Dutch region.
