BRLO is a Berlin-based craft brewery founded in 2014 by three university friends — Katharina Kurz, Christian Laase and Michael Lembke — who turned their shared passion for craft beer into their own brand. A fourth partner joined in 2016. The name BRLO is derived from the old Slavic and Old Saxon word for Berlin, a nod to the city's rich history and cultural diversity. Starting out by brewing at an external location, the brewery has since grown into one of the most popular craft breweries in the German capital. BRLO's portfolio honours classic beer styles with a modern twist, which is central to the brand's identity. Signature beers include a Helles and a Porter, alongside a Berliner Weisse — a refreshing, slightly sour and lightly hazy low-alcohol beer brewed in the traditional Berlin style. The brewery also collaborates with partner breweries and international producers, offering a broader range of craft and speciality beers. As a gastronomy company, BRLO combines brewing with a hospitality experience at its BRLO Brwhouse. BRLO Brwhouse received a nomination for the DAM Prize in 2019, highlighting the architectural ambition behind the brewery. In 2026, BRLO further expanded its portfolio into the non-alcoholic segment by acquiring ROY Kombucha, underlining its commitment to refreshing drinks beyond beer.
