Balance Brewing and Blending celebrates their third anniversary with Currant Affairs, an ambitious collaboration with Dolphin Brewery. This sour fruit beer is the result of an exceptionally long maturation on redcurrants, with the brewers fully capturing the natural acidity and tannins of the fruit. With only 60 bottles and one keg, this is an extremely limited release that showcases Balance's refined approach to brewing.

Maturation and Flavour Profile

The extended maturation on redcurrants has given Currant Affairs a complex flavour profile. The beer presents with aromas of cherry and citrus zest, followed by a palate of cherry and citric notes. The finish is elegant and vinous, with a lingering citrus character that persists. At 5% ABV, this is a drinkable beer despite the intensity of the fruit acidity and tannins.
