Brouwerij De Kopstoot was a contract and client brewery based in Rotterdam, in the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland. Founded in 2018, the brewery operated as a so-called client brewer, meaning it did not own its own brewing facilities but instead brewed its beers at host breweries. At some point during its existence, Hofbrouwerij Reijngoud became its fixed home base for production. The brewery closed its doors in 2022 after four years of activity. De Kopstoot built a modest but recognisable portfolio during its years of operation. Among its best-known beers were the Tarwelijer, a wheat beer that became the brewery's signature offering, and Doorgehaalde Dirk, another beer that gained attention among Dutch craft beer enthusiasts. The brewery's name — 'kopstoot' being the Dutch word for a boilermaker, a shot of jenever chased with a beer — reflects a playful nod to Dutch drinking culture and the Rotterdam spirit. Although De Kopstoot was a relatively small and short-lived player in the Dutch craft beer scene, it left an impression with its characterful beers and its roots in Rotterdam's lively brewing community. The brewery is no longer active as of 2022.
