Taybeh Brewery is Palestine's first microbrewery, founded by brothers Nadim and Daoud Khoury in the village of Taybeh on the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The brewery holds a remarkable place in regional history as not only the first microbrewery in Palestine, but also the first in the entire Middle East. The village of Taybeh itself, whose name translates to 'good' in Arabic, has made this family-run operation its most important industry for well over a decade. The brewery produces its beers according to the German Reinheitsgebot, the famous purity law of 1516, which restricts ingredients to water, malt, hops and yeast. This commitment to traditional brewing standards sets Taybeh apart in a region where craft beer culture is still emerging. The family business has continued to grow across generations, with Madees Khoury — daughter of the founding family — becoming the first female head brewer in the Middle East, bringing a new chapter to this pioneering brewery. Taybeh's beers have gained international recognition and are now available in UK stores, spreading Palestinian craft brewing culture beyond the West Bank.
