LePlan-Vermeersch is a craft brewery based in Westmalle (Malle), in the Antwerp province of Belgium. The brewery was founded by Dirk Vermeersch, a former Belgian rally racing champion who had already built a strong reputation over two decades with his LePlan-Vermeersch winery in the Rhône Valley. Turning his passion and entrepreneurial spirit toward brewing, Vermeersch had a dedicated brewery built on the Ambachtstraat, bringing the same independent and unconventional mindset from the wine world into the Belgian beer scene. LePlan-Vermeersch brews with a clear passion for Belgian beer tradition, crafting artisanal beers that reflect both craftsmanship and creativity. The brewery's portfolio includes adventurous styles and innovative techniques, such as a Tripel infused with vermouth and a Quad Bourbon Infused, showcasing a willingness to experiment with barrel aging and specialty ingredients. The brewery's head brewer, Shaughn Dolezal, brings an inventive approach to the brewhouse, helping shape a distinctive range of specialty beers. The brewery has already earned recognition on the competition circuit: a Mals Rood with cherries and hibiscus won a bronze medal at a major beer competition, and the Tripel with vermouth infusion also claimed a bronze in its category.
