Le Trou du Diable is a microbrewery founded in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. Its name references a distinctive geographical formation — a natural "pot" or whirlpool — located at Shawinigan Falls, giving the brewery a strong sense of local identity rooted in the landscape of the Mauricie region. The brewery established itself as one of the leading craft operations in Quebec's vibrant and rapidly growing microbrewery scene. The brewery is known for a diversified portfolio of beers that spans a wide range of styles. Among its most celebrated offerings is the Dulcis Succubus, a wine-barrel-aged Belgian farmhouse ale that has earned considerable praise for its complexity and character. Le Trou du Diable has also ventured into sour and wild ale territory, earning international recognition: the brewery took home a World's Best Sour/Wild Ale medal and a Country Winner title at a major international beer competition. Their Schieve Tabarnak, a 6.5% blond beer with hoppy and citrus notes, is another example of the brewery's craft approach. Le Trou du Diable gained further prominence when it was acquired by Six Pints Specialty Beer Company, the Canadian craft division of Molson Coors, marking a significant milestone in the brewery's growth. The acquisition also helped expand distribution of its beers into the United States market, bringing Quebec craft brewing to a wider international audience.
