Brouwers is a beer label originally introduced in 1978 by Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn. The brand was positioned as an accessible, affordable beer for everyday consumers, sold under the Albert Heijn private label. After more than two decades on the market, the Brouwers label was discontinued in 1999. However, the name was revived in 2018, bringing the brand back to Dutch supermarket shelves after nearly twenty years of absence. As a private label beer, Brouwers is primarily associated with straightforward, approachable beer styles aimed at a broad audience. The brand does not operate its own brewery or taproom, but instead relies on contract brewing arrangements typical of supermarket private label products. The portfolio is focused on accessibility rather than craft experimentation.
