Brouwerij Grensgeval is a craft brewery based in Luyksgestel, a small village in the Kempen region of North Brabant, the Netherlands — situated right on the Belgian border. The brewery was founded by brothers Marc and John van Herk together with Rick Groenen, and its name, 'Grensgeval' (meaning 'border case'), reflects its unique identity: brewing beers that bridge the world-renowned Belgian beer culture with a distinctly Dutch boldness and creativity. The brewery's portfolio consists of specialty beers that draw inspiration from both sides of the border. Their range showcases the diversity of craft brewing, with styles that blend Belgian brewing traditions with a modern, adventurous approach. One of their signature beers, '44 boven NAP', was entered into the Dutch Beer Challenge in 2022 and received a jury evaluation — marking an important milestone for the young brewery. Brewery Grensgeval has earned recognition on the national stage: their Kriek 'wak WOW' received a Silver medal at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2024, competing in the innovation and specialty category.
