Brouwerij Bosch is the last remaining complete city brewery of Maastricht, with roots stretching back to 1758 when beer was first brewed on the site. In 1827, the brewery passed into the hands of Nicolaas Bosch, and he and his descendants shaped it into a lasting institution in the heart of Maastricht. Also known historically as Stoombierbrouwerij De Keyzer or Brouwerij De Keizer, the brewery has been an integral part of the city's brewing culture for well over two centuries. In 2023, a book documenting more than 200 years of brewing and family history was published, underscoring the deep heritage attached to this brewery. Brouwerij Bosch plays a central role in the revival of Maastricht's beer culture, alongside other city breweries. As the last complete stadsbrouwerij in Maastricht, it represents a living piece of local brewing heritage. Visitors can step into the world of traditional beer brewing, explore the historic brewery premises, and discover the craftsmanship that has defined this place for generations. The brewery offers guided tours through its historic facilities, giving beer enthusiasts a rare opportunity to experience an authentic, centuries-old brewing environment firsthand. Brouwerij Bosch is a must-visit destination for anyone with a passion for beer history and traditional brewing in the Netherlands.
