Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers is an independent, family-owned craft brewery and distillery based in Braeside, in the south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 2009 by Matt and Andrea Houghton, the brewery began its journey selling beers out of the back of a car before growing into one of Australia's most pioneering craft beverage operations. In 2017, Boatrocker expanded its identity when the Perth-based distillery Hippocampus was merged into the business, officially becoming Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers. Boatrocker has consistently positioned itself as a challenger brand, setting out to rock the boat and bring a surge of refreshing new flavours to the Australian craft beer landscape. The brewery is known for pushing boundaries with its beer portfolio, which includes barrel-aged wild ales such as the Barrel Aged Morello Cherry Wild Ale. Their Barrel Overbored programme highlights their dedication to barrel-ageing and experimental fermentation techniques.
