Van Honsebrouck, the Belgian brewery based in Emelgem, crafts a beer that marries the fruit-forward character of a tripel with the warm, layered complexity of barrel aging. The pour reveals a golden, bright beer topped with a white head. The nose is inviting: grape, sweet apple, and clear wood notes from the casks. On the palate, a full-bodied, well-rounded flavour emerges where vanilla and cognac warmth blend seamlessly with the underlying tripel character. The 12% ABV is present but balanced.
