Gaffel Kölsch is brewed in Cologne by Privatbrauerei Gaffel Becker, a family brewery founded in 1908. This classic Kölsch presents a pale, golden appearance with a delicate balance of fruity esters and subtle hop bitterness. The beer is fermented with ale yeast and cold-aged in traditional cellars, resulting in a clean, crisp character that distinguishes it from standard lagers. The flavour profile is marked by a pleasant, delicate bitterness and a light, refreshing body. Brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516 using only water, malt, hops and yeast, Gaffel Kölsch avoids flashy hop character in favour of understated balance and drinkability. It remains one of Cologne's most recognised interpretations of the Kölsch style.
