Transatlantique Kriek is an annual collaboration between New Belgium Brewing and Belgian lambic brewery Oud Beersel, a transcontinental partnership since 2003. The beer blends two equal parts: a traditional cherry lambic from the Zenne valley and a golden sour ale aged up to three years in New Belgium's oak foeders. The nose reveals sweet cherry, oak and subtle spice notes. On the palate, an appealing balance emerges between candied sweetness and tart cherry, with oak undertones leading to a refreshing sour finish. Light to medium-bodied with crisp carbonation.
