Oakspire is a bourbon barrel ale from New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colorado, a limited-edition collaboration featuring a high-rye base ale aged at 9% ABV. The brewery engineered custom stainless-steel vessels to circulate the beer through bourbon-steeped charred oak spirals, extracting rich barrel character without overwhelming the beer itself. A blend of pale, Munich, caramel 80, rye and roasted barley malts provides a malty-sweet foundation with hints of vanilla and dark fruit, while Nugget and Sabro hops add a spicy edge. The finish carries a whisper of bourbon warmth and oak char.
