Rooie Fik is named after a legendary vagrant from Hilvarenbeek, known for his striking red moustache. This amber ale is brewed at Museumbrouwerij De Roos, the Netherlands' only authentic working village brewery, housed in the 1850s monument building on Hilvarenbeek's Vrijthof. Crafted with dark malts that create a warm, bready foundation, Rooie Fik develops subtle fruity notes in the nose, complemented by restrained floral hop character. The palate is rounded and elegant, with a gentle sweetness and measured bitterness that remains in balance. At 6.5% ABV, Rooie Fik offers approachable character without excess. It pairs well with chicken, white fish and meat dishes, making it a versatile choice for the brewery's tasting room and beyond.
