Jopen's Zwarte Ziel 2022 is an Imperial Smoked Porter built for serious drinkers. Matured across three different bourbon barrels—Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve and a third blend—this 10.5% ABV expression balances smoke with sweet oak influences. Wild Turkey contributes bold notes of caramel, raisins and marzipan, while Woodford Reserve adds vanilla and butterscotch richness.
The smoked porter base provides earthiness beneath the bourbon-soaked complexity. Wood tannins and warming alcohol create a substantial, contemplative experience. This is a beer for deliberate sipping and reflection.
