Maria Magdalena #3 is a Single Hop Black IPA from Jopen in Haarlem, brewed with rye and exclusively Ahtanum hops. The rye contributes a full body and depth to the beer. Aromatically, citrus and grapefruit lead, complemented by subtle floral notes. On the palate, those citrus characteristics persist alongside chocolate undertones, balanced by a clean hop bitterness. This beer demonstrates how American hop character can be harmonised with dark malts.

Jopen has been brewing since 1994 and is the Netherlands' largest independent craft brewery. Maria Magdalena is part of an experimental series where each edition explores a different hop variety. At 6.5% ABV and 80 IBU, #3 offers a full-bodied, complex Black IPA.
