Astra Urtyp is the original Pilsener from Holsten Brauerei in Hamburg, with roots tracing back to 1909. This balanced German Pils is brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot using only malt, water, hops and yeast. The beer presents a clear straw-gold colour with a generous white head. The aroma leads with fresh, grassy notes and subtle cracker malt. On the palate, it reveals a clean, dry character with light citrus and stone fruit hints, anchored by a classic noble hop bitterness that remains gentle and refined. The finish is crisp and dry, with a lingering hoppy bite. This is a light, highly carbonated beer that proves elegance lies in simplicity—a straightforward German Pils without pretence.
